Girona: Arab Baths, Monastery and ice-cream!

 Hola!

The sun rose on the second day my mother and I would spend in Girona. We ate breakfast at the hostel. It was very nice; I ate a lot of toast and jam. I admired their salt and pepper sign.

We then had another chat with the very helpful receptionist who advised we visit the ancient Arab Baths and the monastery. So off we went, into a sunny Girona morning.

Prepare for lots of ice-cream pictures! I love continental ice-cream!

An amazing shop!

Flies are a symbol of Girona after a miracle involving them took place.

Minion!

We crossed the river via one of its many bridges.

There were so many of these huge fish in the river!

We arrived at the Plaça de la Independència.

We then recrossed the river to the old town.

Love lock!

My mother loved the Espais 1714: a nice green space to sit in.

Minions!

We entered the beautiful Arab Baths

Saint Felix

A churros plant!

We left the Baths and wandered towards the monastery.

The monastery is very striking and serene with a healthy population of pigeons who, in their way, add to the atmosphere.

We sauntered back towards the Little Lioness and the Cathedral.

We arrived and bought some lovely ice-cream at La Lletera (meaning "dairy").

Tourists kissing the Lioness's bottom!

Smurf-flavoured ice-cream!

Crème Catalan!

Yum

It was a fantastic morning! We had even more adventures in the afternoon which I will share in my next post!

 Thanks for reading.
