Hello!
After taking my placement tests I was able to begin my classes at the University of Salamanca. I would be doing four hours a day: two of Spanish language, one of Spanish history and one of Spanish art. I really enjoyed all three first lessons.
We then headed to the old University building - the one with the Frog - for our Opening Ceremony. We were led to a very grand hall.
We were welcomed to the University by the Rector and Rosa Montero, a journalist - she's the lady at the lectern.
After the ceremony I went for a wander in Salamanca. I bought an ice-cream and did my usual thing of photographing it in its home town (as I did in Barcelona and Collioure, for example). It was delicious.
I casually made my way home, admiring some pretty flowers on the way.
The next day after lessons I decided to try one of the cafés by the Cathedral and ordered a pizza - my usual Reina: ham and mushroom.
Such a nice setting!
The pizza was pretty nice. I then decided to be daring and venture further than I had before: beyond the Plaza Mayor!
My courage was rewarded as I found a nice little green area with a lovely fountain frequented by pigeons and sparrows. The leaves on the trees are so green against the blue sky. Green, blue and sandstone gold: for me, those are the three colours of Salamanca.
Breaking free!
I retraced my steps across the ever-lovely Plaza Mayor. As you can see, the sun was beating down and I was looking forward to getting back and being able to chill!

The sun was glowing through the leaves, creating a lovely little oasis of green where you could imagine fairies playing.
Salamanca is so beautiful in terms of both architecture and nature. The only downside is the heat. I was glad to escape it that day!
