Hello!
Salamanca is located on the River Tormes. I'm known for liking coastal or river cities as I feel a deep need to be near water. However, the River Tormes is quite far from Salamanca's town centre and several of my friends had no idea where to find it.
I made the effort to go and visit it a couple of times and was impressed by its blueness and the huge fish it held, similar to those that I saw in Girona. It's certainly worth the walk although I would recommend doing it in cooler weather than I did as I was almost melting.
