Oranges, flowers, a lion and a Merman

 Hello!

After first exploring Vigo on a very overcast afternoon, I chose a sunnier day for a second foray into the city centre. The sky was blue and the clouds white and fluffy as the bus arrived in town.

Vigo is full of trees bearing oranges or flowers. You especially see them a lot on the long islands that run down the centre of roads.

I ambled through the wide, open streets, admiring the mishmash of old and new buildings and the way nature is integrated into the city. Whether you're doing anything particular or just walking, Vigo is a great, relaxed place to spend time.

The sea!

I arrived at the shopping area of Porta do Sol, with its famous tiled lion, an ad for "wines and cognac". It shines brightly in the sun and really is eye-catching.

It was good to see the Merman again, in daylight this time. He really is a remarkable being.

I popped into Five Monkeys Coffee, having noticed there was an offer I could get with my Erasmus card. I enjoyed my first frappé of many. It didn't actually have any coffee in it and was more of a milkshake than anything else. It was pretty divine.

I happily drank my frappé as I wandered down to the harbour. There, with the sunshine, I was able to take plenty of photos of the sea and boats, so look out for those in my next post.

 Thanks for reading!
